Maggie was our family border collie for almost fifteen years. She overcame many physical challenges and never lost her love of family, kids, Frisbee or ball. She was a Therapy Dog, flyball novice, cheerleader, and the best companion our family could have had.
As she aged, her mobility gradually decreased. We carried her up and down stairs and used a harness for support.
We finally got her a cart and she took to it immediately. Although she could not walk much farther than before, she could stop and sniff and explore on her own. She was happy to engage the world again on her own terms.
We thought we would have more time. Sadly, her health deteriorated after only five short weeks using her cart and we had to say good-bye.
Our only regret is that we didn't get her a cart sooner as the improvement to her life was so significant.
